WORCESTER, Mass. – It all came together for the #3 Princeton University heavyweight rowing team Sunday at Eastern Sprints at Lake Quinsigamond as the Tigers won the Rowe Cup for the 11th time in program history and won four gold medals along with two silvers.
The Rowe Cup is awarded to the team with the highest combined point total. The 2V, 3V, 4V and 5V won gold medals while the 1V and V4+ both earned silvers. The Rowe Cup victory was Princeton's 11th, as the Tigers also won it in 2024, 2016, 2015, 2005, 2001, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996 and 1995.
"It's hard for me to put our team's performance today into words," said Head Coach Greg Hughes. "Every member of our team stepped up. It was a true team effort, and it feels good to be a part of such a special group. Much of today was possible thanks to the vision and leadership of our seniors. They set audacious goals for our team this year. They lived up to them every day and they made sure the rest of us did too. Today's results were the fruits of their labor. Thank you, class of 2026!"
