Five Tigers Earn Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

After helping the Princeton softball team to the 2022 Ivy League title and to the NCAA tournament, Cate Bade, Adrienne Chang, Madison Hamilton, Abbie Lee and Gianna Mavica each earned Easton/NFCAÂ All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition as the coaches organization announced its honorees.
The Tiger five includes two new graduates, with Hamilton, a tri-captain last season, earning a degree in ecology and evolutionary biology and Mavica from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. Hamilton played in 36 games, making 20 starts in the outfield. Mavica played in 23 games and made seven starts between second base, first base and designated player.
Chang, a rising senior and molecular biology major, was a first-team All-Ivy honoree last season and earned Princeton's place on the Academic All-Ivy League team. Chang hit .351 for the season, standing second on the team.
Bade, a rising junior and economics major, played in 33 games had a late-season surge at the plate, raising her batting average 173 points to .306 over a seven-game stretch between April 23 and May 13. Lee, a rising sophomore who has not yet declared a major, played in 36 games, primarily as a pinch runner or an outfielder.
