DeSanty Earns LPGA Section Coach of the Year Honor

Coming off the program's third Ivy League title in its last four chances, Princeton women's golf head coach Erika DeSanty was named the LPGA Northeast Section Coach of the Year for 2022, the organization announced.

DeSanty helped guide Princeton to top-10 finishes in every tournament during the 2021-22 fall and spring seasons, seven top-three tournament finishes, four tournament titles including the Ivy League Championship, and the program's highest ever NCAA Regional finish, taking sixth at Stanford.

In winning Ivy League Coach of the Year honors, DeSanty helped lead three Tigers to All-Ivy League recognition in 2022, led by first-teamer Victoria Liu, who was named Ivy League Rookie of the Year.

The year also saw DeSanty help the program land a recruiting class ranked by the Golf Channel as No. 5 in the nation, including Catherine Rao, who went on to make the quarterfinals at the 2022 U.S. Women's Amateur, and Sophie Zhang-Murphy.

Princeton will open its 2022 fall schedule Sept. 24 and 25 when it hosts the Princeton Invitational. The team won its home invite last fall for the first time since 2007, setting a program record for best 18-hole team score (280) and best 54-hole team score (864) as Princeton turned in four of its top six best team rounds in program history during the 2021-22 season and each of the program's four best-ever 54-hole team scores.
