No. 5 Yale Gets Past No. 14 Princeton to Open ECAC Hockey Season

A first-period goal from Anna Bargman and another in the second period from Elle Hartje helped No. 5 Yale to a 3-0 win over the No. 14-ranked Princeton women's hockey team on Friday night at Baker Rink as the ECAC Hockey season got underway.
Bargman's first goal came on a breakaway just before the midway point of the first period, and Hartje, a first-team All-ECAC Hockey honoree last season, doubled the lead by capitalizing on a 2-on-1 chance less than seven minutes into the second period.
Bargman added her second with less than two minutes to go in the game on an empty-netter. Princeton outshot the Bulldogs 51-38 overall while Yale held a 27-22 edge in shots on goal as Pia Dukaric, the 2023 ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Year, stopped all 22 Tiger shots on net.
The Tigers will host Brown on Saturday at 6 p.m. back at Baker Rink as Homecoming Weekend concludes.
