No. 13 Women's Water Polo Rallies To Drop No. 23 Pomona-Pitzer

POMONA – The No. 13 Princeton Women's Water Polo squad rallied from an early deficit to defeat the No. 23 Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, 15-11, on Wednesday afternoon.

The Sagehens added three of the first four tallies before goals from Jovana Sekulic and Shanna Davidson tied the score at 3-all after eight minutes. Sekulic and Annie Robinson registered goals to begin the second frame, but the home team countered with three straight to take a 6-5 at halftime.

Princeton began the scoring in the second half with two consecutive goals, but Pomona quickly tied the contest again, 8-8. Laura Larkin gave the Tigers a 9-8 advantage after three frames.

Head coach Derek Ellingson's squad put the battle away with four goals over the first three minutes of the fourth stanza to expand its lead to five, 13-8. Pomona never got within four the rest of the way.
