Sondre Guttormsen Wins Gold at European Athletics Indoor Championships

European Athletics Indoor Championships ResultsÂ
Istanbul, Turkey - Sondre Guttormsen has been named a European Indoor Champion, winning gold in the men's pole vault. Guttormsen jumped 5.80m at the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships on Sunday, March 5th, 2023 to take a first place finish.Â

It took Guttormsen just three vaults to secure his new title, clearing 5.80m. Guttormsen's victory at the Championships Âis the first time a Norwegian Pole Vaulter has won gold.
2023 has been an exciting indoor season for Guttormsen as he looks to wrap up competition next weekend as a NCAA Indoor Champion.Â

This weekend, Guttormsen will be traveling to the Albuquerque Convention Center to represent Princeton at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships. While in New Mexico, he will compete among the top pole vault performers within the NCAA and seek a back-to-back, National Champion title.
