Starks Earns Ivy Player of the Week Honor

After leading Princeton's starters with a .545 batting average on the weekend, senior outfielder Serena Starks has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week.Â
Starks had hits in all three games against Cornell, going 6 for 11 with a double to slug .636 and drawing a walk to have an on-base percentage of .583. Starks struck out just once on the weekend and was perfect on five chances in the outfield.
On the season overall, Starks leads Princeton's starters with a .382 batting average, 47 hits and 57 total bases. Starks' 47 hits and 27 runs scored also lead the Ivy League. On the Ivy season, Starks' .436 batting average leads the Tiger starters, as do her 24 hits and 28 total bases.
Starks and the Tigers sit atop the Ivy League at 12-3 alongside Harvard, this weekend's opponent for two games Saturday and one Sunday, both 12:30 starts at Princeton Softball Stadium at Strubing Field. Admission is free.
