No. 52 Men's Tennis Falls to No. 10 Harvard
April 23, 2023 | Men's Tennis
PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 52 Princeton University men's tennis team fell to No. 10 Harvard in its final contest of the regular season Sunday at the Lenz Tennis Center, 6-1.
"The final score was not indicative of the competitiveness of the match," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "Our guys fought hard and left it all out there. Harvard has a very strong and experienced team and we needed to carry a bit more momentum midway through the singles. There was a moment early in the 2nd sets where we had created a positive surge. It comes down to execution and against an experienced team you must take it from them. I'm proud of how our team fought and represented our program. We were on the bubble of the NCAA tournament going into this match and we'll have to await our fate with selections on May 1. Though there were a lot of ups and downs with the season, I can't recall a season where we've seen as much growth from start to finish. The team that finished the regular season today was a far different group from the fall and the start of the dual match season."
While the Crimson won the doubles point, Sebastian Sec and Alan Kam earned a 6-3 victory over Alan Yim and David Lins at the No. 3 position.
In singles, Sec triumphed 6-3, 6-4, at the No. 3 position over Ronan Jachuk.
