Baseball Rallies Over NJIT For Sixth Straight Win

NJIT's Luke Longo led off the game with a home run to left field but Scott Bandura countered with a tremendous blast to right center to tie the game in the second inning.
The road squad added on, scoring on a wild pitch in the fourth frame before two bases loaded walks in the seventh stanza made it 4-1.
In the bottom of the seventh with two out, Scott Bandura tripled in Eric Marasheski, Matt Scannell and Caden Shapiro to tie the contest at 4-all.
Jake Bold followed with an RBI double down the left field line that allowed Bandura to touch home and put Princeton in front.
NJIT registered its fifth run on an RBI single by Ray Ortiz in the top of the eighth. Nick DiPietrantonio led off the bottom half of the stanza with a home run to left field before Princeton added two runs on a throwing error to make it 8-5.
NJIT brought the winning run to the plate in the top of the ninth, but Justin Kim got a strikeout to end the game.
Bandura had two hits, four RBI and walked three times. Shapiro walked four times which is tied for the second most in a single game in program history. Caden MacDonald collected his first career win while Kim picked up his second save of the year.
Princeton will travel to Yale for a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 2 p.m. The two Ivy foes will face off in a single game on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
