No. 50 Men's Tennis Drops Road Contest at No. 30 Cornell
April 09, 2023 | Men's Tennis
ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 50 Princeton University men's tennis team fell to No. 30 Cornell Sunday at the Reis Tennis Center, 5-2.
"Tough one today on the road at Cornell," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "Like all close matches there were pivotal points where we had chances and needed to convert. Today we didn't do that well enough. We simply need to be more consistent across the board. We have had various guys step for us and have great performances - when we do that on the same day we are a really strong team. It starts with better consistency in doubles which has been too up and down for us throughout the spring. We'll rebound quickly and get ready for a tough Temple team on Tuesday at home."
Thomas Bosancic earned a 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles over Vladislav Melnic, and Sebastian Sec defeated Adit Sinha at No. 4 after Sinha retired with the score 2-6, 7-6 (7-1), 1-1.
