No. 53 Men's Tennis Outlasts Temple, 4-3
April 11, 2023 | Men's Tennis
PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 53 Princeton University men's tennis team overcame Temple, 4-3, Tuesday afternoon at the Lenz Tennis Center in non-conference action.
"We started out flat today and had to pick it up in singles," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "Temple is a very talented team and we knew they would be tough. We got better as the match went on and I was especially pleased in Matt's performance battling back from 3-5 in the 2nd to clinch the deciding point. He played mentally strong and showed great poise. We'll get to work the next few days and prepare for our road trip to Brown and Yale."
While the Tigers lost the doubles point, Princeton bounced back in singles. At the No. 1 position, No. 116 Fnu Nidunjianzan defeated Martin Delmas, 7-5, 6-1, and at No. 3 Will Peters took down Louis Gorregues, 7-5, 6-1. Sebastian Sec dispatched Gregoire Barety, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4, and Matthew Bosancic clinched the match at No. 6 with a 6-3, 7-5 triumph over Hussein El Tawil.
