Austin, TX – Javelin thrower Kate Joyce concludes an astounding outdoor track and field season competing at her second, consecutive NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships under the lights of Mike. A Meyers Stadium.
Among the nation's best collegiate throwers, Joyce placed tenth in her flight and produced a best throw of 48.30 meters on Thursday night. Her championship mark came on her opening throw that allowed Joyce to finish 22nd overall at this years' outdoor championship.
Joyce's performance at this years' national championship will also earn her Honorable Mention All-America Honors for 2023.
The Ivy League record holder has much to be proud of from her 2023 outdoor campaign, including a season best throw of 52.14m that ranked 25th in the NCAA, and a championship qualifying performance of 47.98m from Jacksonville that punched her ticket to Austin, and a second, consecutive appearance at the NCAA National Championship.
