4x100 Squad Sets Program Record as Tigers Close Out Spec Towns Invitational

ATHENS, GA. – With another record-breaking performance, the Princeton women's track and field team closed out competition at the Spec Towns Invitational in Athens, Ga. on Saturday.
The 4x100 squad of Brooke Jackson, Maisha Atkinson, Laila Payne, and Franziska Burchett set a new program record as they ran 45.16. They bested the previous Princeton record of 45.19, set in 2022.
Payne also had a top-10 finish in the 100m hurdles as she set a new PR with a time of 14.15.
Alysa Carrigan finished third and nearly matched her program record in the high jump as she cleared 1.80m / 5-10.75. The mark is a new outdoor best, off just a centimeter from her all-time best of 1.81m.
Georgina Scoot took second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.21m / 43-4.25.
Layla Giordano took second in the discus, throwing 54.96m/180-4. It is her third throw over 54m in the last three competitions.
Alexandra Kelly tied for seventh in the Princeton record book with a new best of 11.92 in the 100m.

The Tigers will head south again next weekend as they split for the Wake Forest Invitational and the Virginia Challenge.
