Three Program Records Fall as Tigers Compete at Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Three Tigers set new program records as the Princeton women's track and field team competed at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va. this weekend.
Alexandra Kelly set a new Princeton record in the long jump, clearing 6.58m / 21-7.25 as she won the event. Her mark bested teammate Georgina Scoot's 2025 record of 6.51m. The performance ranks fourth in the nation currently.
Scoot set a record of her own in the triple jump, breaking her own program record as she cleared 13.39m / 43-11.25 to top her own 2025 mark of 13.36m. 13.39m puts her at third on the current NCAA list. She also took second place in the long jump with a mark of 6.53m / 21-5¼.
In the triple jump, Kelly and Scoot finished first and second, as the wind pushed them to marks of 13.41m and 13.40m, respectively.
Maisha Atkinson, fresh off an indoor season that saw the senior break records in the 200m, 300m, 400m, and 500m, got to work on the outdoor record book as she set a new record in the 200m. Running 23.60, she broke the 2025 record of 23.66, set by Adelaide Asante '25.
Having a day, Atkinson also set a new PB in the 400m, running 53.50. The mark puts her second on the program all-time leaderboard.
Laila Payne set a new personal best in the 100m hurdles, running 13.90 for eighth in the Princeton record book. Payne also took second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.82.
Layla Giordano won the discus, throwing 57.79m / 189-7. She has thrown over 54m in each competition this season.
The Tigers swept the vertical jumps as Tessa Mudd won the pole vault, clearing 4.33m / 14-2.5, and Alysa Carrigan won the high jump, clearing 1.75m / 5-8.75.
Shea Greene won the javelin with a throw of 52.94m / 173-8. Niki Woods (47.19m / 154-10) and Kameil Crane (45.92m / 150-8) joined her in the top 10, finishing in fifth and seventh.
Angela McAuslan-Kelly set a new personal best in the hammer throw with 66.13m / 216-11, improving her second-place mark in the program all-time leaderboard.
Layla Giordano and Makenna Marshall finished 10th and 11th in the shot put, throwing 14.99m
49-2.25 and 14.83m / 48-8, respectively.
Meanwhile, at IC4A Championships in Piscataway, N.J., three Tigers set new personal bests in the 1500m in Fleur Todd-Warmoth (4:39.02), Margaret Thompson (4:44.39), Abigail Kolbe (4:46.60).
Up next, the Tigers will return to campus before splitting again next weekend for the Penn Relays in Philadelphia and the TCNJ Lions Invite.
