Xaivian Lee Leads Canada in Scoring at FIBA U19 World Cup

DECRECEN, Hungary – Xaivian Lee of the Princeton University men's basketball team recently represented Canada at the FIBA U19 World Cup, and ended the tournament as the team's leader in points and assists.

Lee averaged 14.1 points-per-game from the field along with 3.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds. Overall, Lee ranked 14th in scoring at the FIBA U19 World Cup.

On Saturday, June 25, Lee led Canada to a 88-79 victory over China, finishing with 17 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the field and 2-for-4 shooting from three, while also grabbing four rebounds. He followed that performance up with 15 points on 5-for-10 shooting, three rebounds and two assists against France on Sunday, June 27.

In the Round of 16 against Slovakia on Wednesday, June 28, Lee went 7-for-12 from the field and led the team with 17 points and also pulled down three rebounds and recorded two blocks. Against tournament champions Turkey in the quarterfinals on Friday, June 30, Lee finished with 11 points, four assists, two rebounds and two steals.

On Saturday, July 1, Lee tallied 21 points, eight assists and five rebounds against Argentina. He wrapped up the tournament with 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 107-58 triumph over Japan in the seventh-place game.
