Victoria Liu To Play In LPGA's CPKC Women's Open In Vancouver

Victoria Liu, a rising junior for Princeton's women's golf team, will compete in her first LPGA Tour event this weekend as she tees it up in the CPKC Women's Open at the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver.
"I am super excited to be playing in a field of top professionals," Liu said. "It will be a great learning experience, I am looking forward to seeing what I can do out there against such a strong field in front of a lot of people who have helped me reach this point in my career."
Liu, a Vancouver native and member at Shaughnessy, will compete as an amateur in Canada's National Open Championship. The 2023 Ivy League Player of the Year and 2022 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Liu was an at-large selection to the 2023 NCAA Regionals. Through her first two seasons as a Tiger, she has won five collegiate tournaments including medalist honors at the 2022 Ivy League Championship.
"We are eager to follow along as Victoria competes alongside the very best women in the game," said Princeton head coach Erika Desanty. "She finds a way to be at her best when her best is needed, and we are all looking forward to an exciting week of golf ahead."
"Together with CPKC we are very proud to welcome this exceptional group of Canadian and international athletes to Vancouver for the CPKC Women's Open," said Tournament Director Ryan Paul. "Extending playing opportunities through tournament exemptions is an important component of the CPKC Women's Open and we are very pleased that these talented amateur and professional players can join us at Shaughnessy for the 49th playing of Canada's National Open Championship."
Play begins on August 24 at 7 a.m. PDT. Television coverage on the Golf Channel begins at 3:30 p.m.
