Rivera Competes at U20 World Championships

Eligh Rivera, an incoming freshman with the Princeton wrestling team, represented Puerto Rico at the U20 World Championships Aug. 14 in Amman, Jordan.
Rivera wrestled in the 65kg (143 lbs) freestyle competition, opening with an 11-0 win over Finn Akseli Eino Aukusti Erkkola before a 12-0 loss to Uzbekistan's Kamronbek Kadamov.
Heading into Princeton, Rivera won the 2022 and 2023 National Prep Championship titles, both at 138 pounds, and was a two time prep state champion. An All-American at the Super 32 and Powerade events and a two-time All-American honoree at the Ironman tournament, Rivera won the 126-pound title at the NHSCA championship as a sophomore in 2021 and was runner-up at 138 pounds as a junior in 2022.
