Men's Tennis Opens 2023 Fall Season at Farnsworth Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's tennis team opened its 2023 fall season with a strong first day at the Farnsworth Invitational Thursday, a day highlighted by winning 10 out of 13 matches along with a top-35 victory for Fnu Nidunjianzan.

Taking on opponents from Memphis, the Tigers swept their doubles matches, with Paul Inchauspe and Landon Ardila taking down Charlie Barry and Harry Rock 8-3 and the duo of Sebastian Sec and Ellis Short earning an 8-4 victory over Pablo Alemany and Pau Fanlo. Filippos Astreinidis and Evan Wen overcame Mortiz Kudernatsch and Sam Reeve, 8-4, and Matthew Bosancic and Aleksandar Mitric triumphed, 8-6, over Juan Zabala and Mika Berghaus.

Singles was highlighting by No. 73 earning an impressive 6-3, 6-1 win over No. 35 Alemany. Inchauspe had little trouble with Connor Gannon, toppling him 6-0, 6-2, and Ellis Short prevailed over Rock, 7-6 (3), 6-4. Despite being down big in the third set, Bosancic rallied to beat Zabala 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5) and Astreinidis saved five match points to take down Kudernatsch, 0-6, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5). Mitric also picked up a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 win over Reeve.
