Tordin Earns Second Consecutive Ivy Player of the Week Honor, Adds National Award
September 05, 2023 | Women's Soccer
Pietra Tordin tied a Princeton program record by scoring four goals in a game last Saturday against Army West Point, and the sophomore's feat has earned her a second consecutive Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honor as well as a spot on Top Drawer Soccer's nationwide Team of the Week.Â
Tordin had all the goals for the Tigers in Saturday's 4-3 win over Army, making her the sixth player in program history to score four in a game and first since 2014, when Tyler Lussi '17 did so in her sophomore season as well.
Entering the week, Tordin ranked first in the nation in goals per game, at 1.75, and second in points per game, at 4.00. Tordin is also second in shots per game, at seven, fourth in shots on goal per game, at 2.75, fourth in total goals, also at seven, and fifth in total points, at 16.Â
Tordin has seven goals this season, already almost equaling her total of eight goals from her Ivy Rookie of the Year-winning season of 2022.Â
Now 3-0-1 on the season, the Tigers will head to Penn State, ranked No. 6 in last week's United Soccer Coaches poll, for a Thursday night game before visiting Lafayette for a Sunday afternoon game.
