CAMBRIDGE – Six players scored in double figures as the Princeton Women's Basketball Team easily took down the Harvard Crimson, 72-49, at Lavietes Pavilion.
Madison St. Rose tied for the game-high with 16 points, adding five steals. Skye Belker (13), Ashley Chea (11), Chet Nweke (10), Kaitlyn Chen (10) and Ellie Mitchell (10) made it the first time Princeton had six players in double digits since February of 2015.
Nweke tied her career high in points while Mitchell recorded her 14th career double-double with 14 rebounds, corralling five assists as well.
Princeton started with the first six points of the game and finished the first quarter with eight straight to hold a 16-4 lead after 10 minutes. During that stretch, head coach Carla Berube's squad allowed just two baskets.
Trailing by 16, Harvard made a push, cutting its deficit to eight (29-21) with a 15-7 sprint during the second frame before going into the break down nine, 31-22.
Holding a nine-point advantage, the Tigers ripped off 13 of 17 over a five-minute stretch of the third stanza and led by 16 after 30 minutes.
Harvard never got within 17 the rest of the way.
The home team's 49 points were a season low. Over the last two seasons, Princeton has held Harvard under 50 three times.
Princeton improves to 12-3 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League. The Tigers head to Dartmouth for a Monday showdown with the Big Green. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
