Women's Tennis Outlasts Denver In Thriller, 4-3

DURHAM, N.C. – The Princeton University women's tennis team wrapped up play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kickoff Weekend at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center Saturday night with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Denver.
The Tigers won the doubles point, with the team of Leena Bennetto and Eva Elbaz overcoming Caroline Driscoll and Louise Wikander at No. 2, 6-2, and the duo of Alice Ferlito and Madeleine Jessup taking down Alice Otis and Claudia Martinez, 6-3, at No. 3.
In singles, No. 93 Jessup was up 6-2, 4-2 at No. 3 against Wikander before Wikander retired. Denver was victorious at the No. 5, No. 4 and No. 2 spots but the Tigers came storming back. Elbaz outlasted Martinez at No. 6, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3, then Neha Velaga clinched the match for Princeton at No. 1, upending Beltran 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4).
