A furious comeback in the third period came up a goal short for Princeton in a 2-1 loss at Colgate.

Drew Garzone netted his first collegiate goal in the third period to cut a Tiger deficit in half, but despite sustained pressure the rest of the way Princeton was unable to find the equalizer.

Princeton had the better of most of the first period, but it was the Raiders who got on the board first when Brett Chorske finished off an odd-man rush with a goal from the slot with 2:19 remaining in the opening period.

Colgate added to its lead with a power-play goal late in the second period when Alex DiPaolo one-time a Tommy Bergsland pass from the right circle with 1:17 left in the middle frame.

Freshman Drew Garzone got the Tigers on the board early in the third period, snapping home his first collegiate goal 2:08 into the period off an assist from classmate Miles Gunty as both rookies picked up their first collegiate points on the play.                 Â

Princeton caps its trip to New York with a game at Lynah Rink, taking on No. 7 Cornell on November 23 at 7 p.m.
