About the Tigers
- #31/28 Mikey Squires enters the weekend 7-1 on the season, most recently picking up a highlight win during Princeton's dual with Rutgers over Shane Cartagena-Walsh with a 3-0 decision. In his last tournament this season, Squires claimed the 184 lb championship at the Princeton Open on November 3rd.
- #33 Sebastian Garibaldi has been solid for the Tigers in the heavyweight class, going 7-3 so far on the season. Like Squires, Garibaldi won his class at the Princeton Open on Nov. 3.
- Dan Jones has been making noise in the 133 class, most recently earning an MD over Rutgers' Brandon Chletsos on Dec. 8, improving the first-year's record to 4-2 this season so far.
- Eligh Rivera will be making his tournament debut this season, entering Midlands with a 2-1 record that featured a big 4-2 decision victory over No. 2 Iowa's Cullan Schriever on Dec. 6.
- Eligh's younger brother Ethan Rivera joins him on the squad this year, and the first-year has been making waves and garnering national recognition. #28/29 Rivera has battled out several extremely close bouts with ranked opponents this season, going toe-to-toe with each of them for a 6-5 record so far.
- Chloe Ayres will represent the Tigers in the women's field after having a strong performance at the Princeton Open, which saw Ayres make the championship match in her class and take second overall.
About the Coaches
- Princeton is led by Head Coach Joe Dubuque, in his second season at the helm after joining the program in 2016. Dubuque is joined by new assistant coaches Anthony Ashnault and Cody Brewer in their first seasons with the Tigers.
- Dubuque, a two-time NCAA Champion at Indiana, has transferred his impressive wrestling career into an equally impressive coaching one, helping coach Princeton's first NCAA champion since 1951 and second ever (Patrick Glory) in 2023, also having the Tigers take 13th place nationally that year. He also helped Princeton take the Ivy League Title in 2020, the program's first since 1986.
- Brewer joins Princeton this season after spending five years at Virginia Tech, where he helped Joey Prata ascend the national rankings and achieve a third-place finish at the 2020 ACC Championships.
- Ashnault was the 2019 NCAA Champion (149 lbs), and he leads Rutgers in all-time wins with 123 victories. The Hodge Trophy finalist, four-time All-American and three-time Big Ten Champion will stay in his home state of New Jersey as he joins the Tiger bench this year.
