About the Tigers
- Most recently, Princeton split duals in Chattanooga on November 23rd as it defeated UTC 29-13 while falling 26-15 to Purdue.
- Luke Stout won both his matches on the day, as did Ty Whalen and Sebastian Garibaldi, continuing a string of strong performances this season from the Tigers.
- Whalen and Stout continue to make waves on the national stage, as Whalen sits at No. 8 in the Flo standings and Stout remains at 16.
- Beginning the season with the Princeton Open, three Tigers claimed championships on November 3rd, as Whalen, Garibaldi, and Mikey Squires won their respective weight classes.
- Whalen is currently 9-0 on the season, as the sophomore captain out of Mullica Hill, N.J. looks to build upon his successes.
- Stout is 4-0 on the season, earning two tech falls last weekend.
- Squires has gone 6-2 on the season, picking up a win over Anthony D'Alesio of LIU during Princeton's win on November 17.
- Freshman Ethan Rivera has also looked strong so far, going 6-3 on the season and claiming fifth place at the Princeton Open.
About the Coaches
- Princeton is led by Head Coach Joe Dubuque, in his second season at the helm after joining the program in 2016. Dubuque is joined by new assistant coaches Anthony Ashnault and Cody Brewer in their first seasons with the Tigers.
- Dubuque, a two-time NCAA Champion at Indiana, has transferred his impressive wrestling career into an equally impressive coaching one, helping coach Princeton's first NCAA champion since 1951 and second ever (Patrick Glory) in 2023, also having the Tigers take 13th place nationally that year. He also helped Princeton take the Ivy League Title in 2020, the program's first since 1986.
- Brewer joins Princeton this season after spending five years at Virginia Tech, where he helped Joey Prata ascend the national rankings and achieve a third-place finish at the 2020 ACC Championships.
- Ashnault was the 2019 NCAA Champion (149 lbs), and he leads Rutgers in all-time wins with 123 victories. The Hodge Trophy finalist, four-time All-American and three-time Big Ten Champion will stay in his home state of New Jersey as he joins the Tiger bench this year.
