No. 10 Women's Water Polo Earns Two Wins Including Takedown of No. 8 Michigan

PRINCETON – The No. 10 Women's Water Polo Team earned two victories on Saturday at DeNunzio Pool.
 
Princeton 15, Bucknell 4
After the Bison tied the game at 1-all, Princeton held them scoreless for 16 minutes and 17 seconds of game action. During that stretch, the Tigers rattled off nine goals.
 
Princeton led by 10 after 24 minutes and cruised to an 11-goal decision. The Tigers had six different players score at least two goals highlighted by Meera Burghardt's hat trick.

Princeton began the contest with goals from Ally Lurie and Rachael Carver. After a Michigan tally, Olivia Krotts and Burghardt made it a 4-1 contest with 1:51 to go in the first quarter.
 
Michigan made a push with three straight, tying the game at four with 6:58 remaining in the first half. The two teams exchanged goals to set the score at 5-all at halftime.
 
The Tigers began the second half with tallies from Carver, Kaila Carroll and Charlotte Riches and held a 9-6 advantage with eight minutes to go.
 
Michigan climbed within two twice in the final quarter but couldn't get any closer.
 
Head coach Derek's Ellingson's crew has now won 10 straight games and is 4-0 in the CWPA. The Tigers finish the weekend vs. St. Francis (12 p.m.) and No. 20 Brown (4 p.m.) Sunday.
