Top Drawer Soccer Recognizes Markesini as 2024 Breakout Candidate
May 28, 2024 | Women's Soccer
Following her first year with the Princeton women's soccer program, rising sophomore backliner Zoe Markesini has gained attention as a player to watch when the Tigers return in the fall.
Playing in 18 games and making 13 starts, Markesini made all 13 of those starts across the team's final 16 games, including each of the final five games of the season and all three postseason games. In the NCAA tournament, Markesini played all 200 minutes as Princeton shut out Michigan and Texas Tech, two of six shutouts she was a part of overall on the season.
Markesini already had international experience before Princeton and has only added to it since, most recently training with the Canadian U-20s in Germany as the nation prepares for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup this fall.
