Reed Greyserman '28 Wins NJ Amateur To Punch Ticket To U.S. Amateur
July 10, 2024 | Men's Golf
Incoming freshman Reed Greyserman went wire-to-wire at the 123rd New Jersey Amateur to claim a three-stroke victory and secure entry into the upcoming US Amateur at Hazeltine National Golf Club August 12-18.
Greyserman finished at -14 overall, carding rounds of 64-66-68-72 (270) to defeat Liam Pasternak by three shots.
He opened his tournament with a seven-under 64, posting six birdies and an eagle over his round. He followed with a five-under 66 in the second round, adding another eagle to go with five birdies on the day. Another five birdies followed in the third round -- including four in a row on holes 1-4 -- as he was -3 over the 18 holes. His final round was more of a grind as he carded four birdies and five bogeys to shoot +1, but his work over the first three days was enough to build an insurmountable lead.
With the win, Greyserman joins his brother, Max, as of the New Jersey Amateur Championship, making them the first brothers to win the Amateur in NJSGA history. Max won at Essex County Country Club in 2015 and now plays full-time on the PGA TOUR after earning his TOUR card after last season on the Korn Ferry Tour.
