August 10, 2024 | Women's Water Polo
Ashleigh Johnson '17 and Jovana Sekulic '26 concluded their 2024 Paris Olympics with an 11-10 loss to the Netherlands in the Bronze Medal Match.
Johnson had 10 saves in the game for Team USA, and Sekulic played over 13:00 in the pool, but the United States was unable to hold on to a 9-6 lead entering the fourth quarter and a Sabrina van der Sloot goal for the Dutch -- her 6th of the game -- with 0:01 left in regulation stunned the three-time defending gold medalists and denied them a return to the medal stand.
