Princeton will have a date with the Old Course and the Championship Match at the 2025 St. Andrews Links Collegiate as the Tigers secured second place after two days of stroke play at the Jubilee Course.
The Tigers entered the second round tied with Cal at even par, and while the second day of competition wasn't the prettiest of golf for the Tigers they did enough to move on and get a crack at the Bears in the Championship Match on October 15. Princeton was +14 as a team in the second round, and edged the hosts from the University of St. Andrews by two shots to get a berth in the finals.
Thanana Kotchasanmanee was T2 on the individual side, one shot behind the medalist from St. Andrews, Ellie Monk. Medalist honors came down to the final hole as Kotchasanmanee and Monk stood on the 18th tee tied at -6 alongside Caitlin Maurice of St. Andrews who was already in the clubhouse at -6. Kotchasanmanee's approach shot went to about 15 feet, while Monk landed hers about five feet from the hole. The ensuing birdie putt from Kotchasanmanee just missed to the left, and Monk's conversion secured the individual win for the hosts.
Over the 36 holes, Kotchasanmanee led the field in scoring on par 4s (3.80; -4) and par 5s (4.25; -6) and her 12 total birdies also led the field.
Princeton and Cal will play six medal matches tomorrow for the chance to win the team trophy. The Tigers and Bears tee off at 10:45 a.m. BST/5:45 a.m. EST with coverage beginning live on the Golf Channel at 2 p.m. BST/9 a.m. BST.
