PRINCETON, N.J. – Andrew Samuels was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. The award is his fourth of the season.
The honor comes after Samuels helped Princeton to two shutouts on the week.
On Tuesday against #2 Bryant, Samuels made three saves as he took the shutout in goal against one of the most prolific offenses in the nation.
On Saturday at Yale, Samuels combined with fellow GK Sully Atkin to shut out Yale as the Tigers won 4-0. He made one save in the contest.
With nine shutouts to his credit, Samuels leads the nation in the stat. He also ranks third in the nation in save percentage (0.917) and fourth in goals allowed, with a GAA of 0.287.
