The Princeton men's swimming & diving team delivered a comprehensive team performance on Saturday in Ithaca, earning decisive victories over Cornell and Penn. Princeton defeated Penn 230.5-69.5 and topped Cornell 209-91, winning 12 events while sweeping both diving boards and both relays.
Princeton set the tone on the boards, taking the top four places in the 3-meter competition. Luca Fassi captured the event with a score of 369.75, followed closely by Chase Sorosky (363.20), Taso Callanan (338.90), and Luka Martinovic (317.30). Martinovic went on to win the 1-meter event with 327.25, completing a strong day for the Tigers' diving group.
Princeton opened the swimming portion of the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Yanning Zhang, Patrick Dinu, Conor McKenna and Logan Noguchi combined for a time of 1:26.47. The Tigers closed the meet with another relay win, as Patrick Dinu, Ryan Noguchi, Daniel Li, and Mitchell Schott posted a first-place time of 2:52.55 in the 400 freestyle relay.
Princeton demonstrated exceptional depth throughout the lineup. Santiago Gutierrez led a sweep of the top four places in the 1000 freestyle with a winning time of 9:05.54, while Arthur Balva secured the 500 freestyle in 4:27.77.
Mitchell Schott tuned in a double in the 100 free (43.58) and 200 fly (1:41.36), while Parker Lenoce (47.13) took the backstroke, Alex Townsend (47.29) won the 100 fly, Keian Lam (1:49.18) won the 200 IM, and Andrew Zou (1:56.12) won the 200 breast.
Next up, Princeton will host the Big Al Invitational, Dec. 4-6.
