Men's Swimming & Diving Opens Big Al Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's swimming & diving team opened the Big Al Invitational at DeNunzio Pool Thursday on a day highlighted by Mitchell Schott's new program record in the 500 freestyle.
Seven out of the eight spots in the A final of the 500 freestyle went to the Tigers, with Mitchell Schott coming in first (4:15.55) and setting a new program record. Arthur Balva finished second with a personal best time of 4:16.99, which ranks #2 in the Tigers' record book and Santiago Gutierrez third in a personal best time of 4:17.29, which ranks third in Princeton's record book. Jack Haley came in fourth (4:20.81), Jiarui Xue fifth (4:20.81), Oliver Rowe seventh (4:26.24) and Max Marcus eighth (4:27.28).
The quartet of Yanning Zhang, Jake Tarara, Lucas Tudoras and Mitchell Schott earned a first-place in the 200 freestyle relay (1:17.93).
Princeton also prevailed in the 400 medley relay after Parker Lenoce, Andrew Zou, Alex Townsend and Mitchell Schott clocked in at 3:09.48.
Keian Lam finished second in the 50 breaststroke and James Pan eighth (25.41).
The 50 freestyle saw Lucas Tudoras tough the wall second (19.73), Jake Tarara fourth (19.90), Conor McKenna fifth (20.01) and Daniel Li seventh (20.12).
In the 200 IM, Keian Lam taking third (1:47.71), John Rusnock sixth (1:48.87) and Andrew Zou seventh (1:48.95).
On the 1-meter board, Luca Fassi finished second (310.75), Chase Sorosky (298.15), Ben Romig fifth (294.10) and Taso Callanan seventh (280.20).
