Princeton Men Sweep Harvard, Yale To Take Ivy Dual Meet Championship
February 01, 2025 | Men's Swimming and Diving
The Princeton men's swimming and diving team swept Yale and Harvard during the annual HYP meet for the first time since 2016 and clinched the Ivy League dual meet championship in the process.
The Tigers took both decisions, defeating Yale 197.5-154.5 and Harvard 188.5-158.5. Yale also had a win, taking down the Crimson 184-163.
Princeton freshman Patrick Dinu had a big night, winning the 100 free and swimming on the winning 200 medley relay (with Tyler Hong, Logan Noguchi and Brett Feyerick) and the winning 400 free relay (with Feyerick, Hong and Mitchell Schott). The two relays had wildly different margins of victory, as the 200 medley relay won by one-hundredth of a second and the 400 free relay won by more than a full second.
Schott won the 200 individual medley and finished second to Dinu in the 100 free. Aidan Wang won both the 1- and 3-meter diving events, with Luca Fassi third in the three-meter as well. Wang's two wins caps off an undefeated dual meet season on both boards.
Hong was also an individual winner, taking the 200 back in 1:41.62. Andrew Zou was third in the 200 breaststroke, as was Arthur Balva in the 500 free.
Princeton will be at both the Cavalier Invitational at the University of Virginia and home for the Tower Diving Event this coming weekend.
