Women's Golf Finishes A Strong Third Place At Yale Intercollegiate

Princeton played its way to a third-place finish as a team at the Yale Intercollegiate contested at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif. finishing as one of three teams under par out of a 12-team field.
The Tigers were -3 as a group to claim third place. North Carolina won the team title at -31 bolstered by a second-round team score of -14, while Kansas was second at -20.
In a field featuring seven teams ranked inside the Top-50 of the most recent CLIPPD rankings, Princeton finished behind No. 15 UNC and No. 23 Kansas, but was in front of five Top-50 teams in No. 50 Virginia Tech, No. 12 Vanderbilt, No. 27 Oklahoma State, No. 32 California, and No. 30 Kansas State.
Two Tigers finished inside the Top-10 individually as Catherine Rao and Olivia Duan were both T8 at -4 overall for the 54 holes.
Duan was hot to start the tournament, posting a 67 (-5) in the first round before following with a 73 (+1) and 72 (E) in her final two rounds.
Rao had the opposite flow to her tournament, opening with a 73 (+1) before posting rounds of 70 (-2) and 69 (-3) to close the tournament and charge up the leaderboard. In her final round, Rao carded eight birdies including six in an eight-hole stretch from No. 5-12
Kansas' Lauren Clark was individual medalist with a three-round score of -12, including a final round 66 (-6).
Victoria Liu was also inside the Top-25 for the Tigers, finishing at +2 overall with a tournament that included a second round 68 (-4).
