No. 35 Men’s Tennis Rallies Back In Win Over No. 60 Yale
April 19, 2025 | Men's Tennis
NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Princeton men's tennis team traveled to Connecticut to take on the Yale Bulldogs in the second to last match of the regular season. After dropping the doubles point, Princeton battled back to pick up a 4-2 win over Yale.
"It was a gritty effort today against an inspired Yale team," head coach Billy Pate said. "Credit to them they played well and pushed us to the limit in a 4 hour battle. We were fortunate to get this win on the road as it wasn't the cleanest match for us, but both teams scratched and clawed and played to win down the stretch. We need to do better with our preparation and readiness when the doubles and singles start. We have a quick turnaround at Providence tomorrow and we'll need to recover and be ready to go again."
Aleksandar Mitric evened the match score at one apiece with a win on court six. Paul Inchauspe followed that up to take the lead for the Tigers with a victory of his own.
Yale tied things up before Evan Wen won a three-set thriller to put Princeton one match away from clinching. Fnu Nidunjianzan picked up the massive clincher on court two with a win over No. 66 Vignesh Gogineni by a score of 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-6(4).
