IVY CHAMPIONS!
Princeton's 15-13 win over Brown last weekend clinched at least a share of the program's 17th Ivy League title and first since 2022. A victory at Dartmouth will assure the team's seventh outright Ivy League championship.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES WITH DARTMOUTH
A long-time rivalry reconvenes this weekend in Hanover as Princeton and Dartmouth meet for the 51st time. The Tigers hold a 30-20 lead in the all-time series, and have won seven of the last nine meetings. Princeton is 13-9 all-time in Hanover, but dropped the last game played between the two teams in the Granite State, 15-14, in 2023. Last year, the Tigers picked up a 17-11 win in New Jersey after jumping out to a 9-0 lead after the first quarter and owing a 15-3 lead at halftime. Haven Dora had an eight-point game with two goals and six assists, while McKenzie Blake scored four times and had a helper.Â
TIGERS IN THE NATIONAL POLLS
Princeton entered the week ranked No. 5 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll, No. 7 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine rankings and No. 5 in the KANE ILWomen.com Media Poll Looking down the line, Princeton is set to play six teams ranked in the preseason IWLCA Coaches Poll this season – No. 8 Virginia, No. 9 Yale, No. 12 Penn, No. 13 Stony Brook, No. 14 Loyola, No. 22 Penn State.
This marks the highest IWLCA poll ranking for the Tigers since they were No. 5 at the close of the 2017 season.
Princeton's 2025 record against teams ranked at the time in the IWLCA Coaches Poll is 5-2.
The Tigers were slotted No. 3 in the Preseason Ivy League Media Poll, receiving one first place vote.
CAN'T SPELL PRINCETON WITHOUT RPI
Princeton slots in at No. 4 in the RPI this weekend, leading a group of seven Ivy League teams inside the Top-30. 12 of Princeton's 14 games this season have come against teams currently inside the RPI Top-40. Dartmouth is No. 20 in the RPI heading into this weekend.Â
SETTING THE SCENARIOS
With one weekend of play remaining in the regular season, three of the four teams are set for the 2025 Ivy League Tournament. The Tigers have clinched at least a share of the Ivy League title and will be either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed next weekend. A win this weekend and Princeton secures the No. 1 seed and the ILT will head to Sherrerd Field for the first time since 2022. The Tigers can still host the Ivy Tournament with a loss and a Brown win at Penn.
The Quakers and Bears are the other two teams assured of competing next weekend at the ILT. The final spot will come down to the winner of the Yale-Cornell game.
BALL CONTROL
Princeton has protected the rock through 14 games, committing 157 total turnovers and ranking No. 4 in the country in turnovers-per-game (11.2) -- trailing Florida (10.9), Harvard (11.0) and Yale (11.1).
FOOT ON THE GAS
Princeton ranks No. 8 in the country in Scoring Offense, averaging 15.9 goals-per-game. The Tigers have been dominant in first quarters, outscoring opponents by a 58-33 margin in the opening period (+25). The second quarters have been even better as the Tigers own a +26 margin (60-34).
AMONG THE ACTIVE LEADERS
Senior McKenzie Blake's 206 career goals rank her No. 5 among active NCAA players. She trails only BC's Rachel Clark (284), BC's Emma Lopinto (241), Loyola's Chase Boyle (225) and Northwestern's Madison Taylor (219). Amelia Hughes enters the week with 9.44 saves-per-game over her career which ranks No. 5 among active D1 keepers and her 453 career saves rank No. 9 among active NCAA D1 goalies.
