Talia Schenck Named To USA Roster For Junior Pan Am Games

Talia Schenck is the latest Princeton field hockey player to wear Red, White and Blue in addition to Orange and Black.
Schenck was named to the United States U-21 team earlier this spring, and now she has learned that she is one of the 16 American players who have been selected for the Junior Pan-Am Games, which will be held in Asuncion, Paraguay, August 9-19.
This will be Schenck's debut on a USA national team. It'll also be the first time field hockey is included in the Junior Pan Am Games. Schenck will be a senior on Princeton's team this coming fall.
Princeton assistant coach Pat Harris will also be in Peru as the head coach of the USA men's team for the event.

"Being selected for the Junior Pan Am team is an incredible honor, and I'm beyond grateful and excited," Schenck says. "I have been a part of the junior team selection pipeline and striving toward this since the U14 age group, so finally reaching this point feels like the culmination of years of hard work. It is also my last year being eligible for the U21 age group making it extra special. I want to sincerely thank the U.S. coaching staff for believing in me and investing in my development. I'm also deeply thankful to my family, friends, and Princeton teammates for their constant support, and to [Princeton coaches] Carla {Tagliente], Dina [Rizzo], Pattie [Gillern] and Pat [Harris] for their guidance."
The Lawrenceville native is a two-time All-Ivy League selection at Princeton. She had five goals and four assists last year as the Tigers went 7-0 in the Ivy League and reached the NCAA quarterfinals.This will be Schenck's debut on a USA national team.
