Women's Lightweight Rowing Wins Team Points Trophy & Two Gold Medals At Eastern Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Princeton University women's lightweight rowing team won the Team Points Trophy at Eastern Sprints Sunday at Lake Quinsigamond, winning gold medals in the 8+ and 4+.
"It's a special day," said Head Coach Paul Rassam. "We wanted to have a shot at the team points trophy. All our crews rowed with poise and composure and made it happen!"
The Tigers' 8+ (6:50.98) gold medal was its fifth straight and 11th total. Princeton came in ahead of Radcliffe (6:54.91) who took silver and Boston University (6:59.18) who won bronze.
Princeton earned a first-place finish in the 4+ (7:57.50), finishing just ahead of Radcliffe (7:59.61) in a thrilling race that went down to the wire. BU (8:01.84) finished third to earn bronze. The Tigers' gold medal in the 4+ is their ninth in program history and their second in the past three seasons.
The Tigers won silver in the 2x, finishing in 8:24.68, just behind Boston University who crossed the finish line in 8:20.76.

The Tigers will compete at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships in Camden, New Jersey, from May 30 – June 1.
