#2 Women's Lightweight Rowing Opens Season Against #1 Radcliffe
April 04, 2026 | Women's Rowing - Lightweight
PRINCETON, N.J. – The #2 Princeton University women's lightweight rowing team opened its 2026 season at Lake Carnegie Saturday morning against #1 Radcliffe, earning a victory over the Crimson in the 4+.
"All of our crews raced well. We are proud of all of them," said Head Coach Paul Rassam. "We had novice walk ons getting their first race in the B4, senior Gabby Galletti in her first race in a sculling boat in the 2x, our A4 comprised mainly of freshmen and sophomores putting on a great win, and then the 8s race was a banger between two very strong boats. We have a solid foundation but there are many refinements we can make between now and championship time. Back to work we go."
The 8+ was a competitive race that saw the Crimson (6:52.9) finished just ahead of the Tigers (6:55.4). Radcliffe's win over Princeton for the Class of 1999 Cup was its first in six years.
The 2x saw the Crimson edge the Tigers, 8:32.1-8:39.9.
Radcliffe's B boat (7:59.1) finished ahead of the Tigers' B boat (8:09.8) in the 4+.
