May 07, 2025 | Softball
Brielle Wright is the Ivy League Pitcher of the Year, Princeton's staff is the Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year, and 10 Tigers earned All-Ivy League honors as the conference announced its all-league teams.
Princeton's 10 All-Ivy honorees are the second-most in program history, behind only the 11 honorees Princeton had in 1995. Princeton's six first-team honorees match 2022 for the program's most in a year since 1996, when the team had seven a year after a program-record eight in 1995.Â
The Ivy League champions will host the Ivy League Tournament beginning Thursday at Cynthia Lynn Paul '94 Field.
Here's a look at Princeton's honorees:
Pitcher of the Year • Brielle Wright • Jr.
Wright's Ivy League Pitcher of the Year honor is the program's 12th in award history, and Wright is the ninth pitcher in program history to win the honor, with three two-time honorees. The most recent of those two-timers, Alexis Laudenslager, won the honor in 2022 and 2023, giving Princeton three of the last four Ivy Pitchers of the Year, and it's the fourth honor during the Lisa Van Ackeren era, along with Claire Klausner in 2017. With Klausner's award, Princeton has four of the last seven Ivy League Pitchers of the Year (no award given in 2020 and 2021), making it the first time in award history that a school has taken home four such awards in a seven-year span.
