Heavies Have 10 Reach Semifinals at U23 World Rowing Championships

PRINCETON – The Princeton Heavyweight Team will have 10 representatives rowing in their respective semifinals at the U-23 World Rowing Championships.
Kian Aminian, Andrew Wilkinson and the United States eight won its heat at 5:31.35 in front of Matt Cashman, Dan Cashman, Ed Nutt and Australia (5:32.43). Alan Mitchell '29 and France was third (5:40.42).
Tristan Wenger and Great Britain won its heat at 5:28.054 by over two seconds over New Zealand (5:30.07). Connor Bohlmann and Canada's eight was third in its race at 5:43.29.
All the eights featuring Tigers will race in their respective semifinals. Great Britain, Canada and Australia race on Saturday at 5:19 a.m. The United States and France row at 5:25 a.m., immediately following the first semifinal.
The Great Britain pair of Theo Bell and Marcus Chute secured fourth place in their heat (6:36.1) behind Turkey, Greece and Germany. They will row in the first semifinal Friday at 9:10 a.m. Also in that semifinal is Bohlmann, who was fifth in his heat (6:39.96) with Matteo Banducci.
Peter Strecansky '29 of the men's lightweight team secured fifth in the lightweight single sculls heat (7:23.54). He will row in the B Final on Saturday at 7:06 a.m.
