Princeton secured the team victory at the Jersey Jam on its home course to open the 2025 season, besting its rival from up Route 1, Rutgers, by one point.
The Tigers finished with 38 team points from their scoring entrants, while the Scarlet Knights had 39. Monmouth was third with 71 points while Penn was fourth with 80. Rider rounded out the field with a team score of 145.
The first three runners to cross the finish line were Tigers who were competing unattached in Brian Boler (16:56.3), Hayden Boaz (17:00.0) and Tristan Yoder (17:00.9).
The scoring started with Micah Lawson of Rutgers who was fourth overall in a time of 17:02.6 but the Tigers then placed four of the next five runners to give their group just enough of a cushion on points to stave off the Scarlet Knights.
Collin Boler was the first Tiger to score, finishing 5th (17:06.9) while Avery Keith was 6th (17:08.2). After a Monmouth runner took 7th, the Tigers secured the next two spots with Sebastian Martinez taking 8th (17:11.2) and Christian Groendyk in 9th (17:11.3). Vijay Krishnamoorthi was the fifth Tiger to score, finishing 22nd with a time of 17:38.7.
The Tigers are next on the course on September 12, heading to Van Cortlandt Park in New York City for the Paddy Doyle Meet Of Champions which will be held at the host course for the upcoming Ivy League Championships on October 31.
