Men's Cross Country Takes First at Iona Paddy Doyle Meet of Champions

PRINCETON, N.J. – Notching a solid, early-season win on the course that will host the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships this Fall, the Princeton men's cross country team took first place at the Iona Paddy Doyle Meet of Champions on Friday in Van Cortlandt, N.Y.
With a team score of 69 points, Princeton took the win in a tie-breaker with Yale, tallying three of five faster performances in the head-to-head comparison. Jacob Nenow was the top Tiger finisher, taking first place at the meet with a five-mile time of 25:02.90.
"We had a great day getting to see the Ivy League course that we will run several weeks from today. We ended up beating Yale in the tie-breaker, which was a lot of fun. We'll be back here to defend our title later this Fall, and I'm excited for what's ahead." - Head Coach Jason Vigilante
Brian Boler and Avery Keith were next across the finish line for Princeton, taking 13th and 14th respectively with times of 25:45.20 and 25:51.00.
Collin Boler and Christian Groendyk rounded out the Tiger scorers, with Boler taking 19th with a time of 26:03.80 and Groendyk taking 22nd (26:08.20).
Sebastian Martinez and Jack Gregorski acted as pushers for the Tigers, taking 29th and 40th place.
The Tigers will use today's race as they prepare for when they return to Van Cortlandt for the Ivy Heps Championships on October 31.
