Men's Cross Country Wins Princeton Fall Classic

PRINCETON, N.J. – Ending up on top after late-race advances from Myles Hogan and Jacob Nenow, the Princeton men's cross country team took first place at the Princeton Fall Classic on Friday at Meadows.
Combining to take 15 points off their score in the final split, the Tigers won with a team score of 55, kicking out second-place Oklahoma (68). En route to first place, #20 Princeton bested #11 Syracuse and #29 Boise State.
With a field of over 300 runners, all five Tiger scorers finished in the top-20.
Hogan was first across the line for the Tigers, kicking out two runners in each of his final two splits to go from 6th at the 6400m mark, all the way to second place at the finish line. He clocked in at 22:58.6 for a new personal-best.
Nenow was just behind him, moving up a net four places after the 5500m mark to take third place overall with a new PR time of 23:00.5.
Jackson Shorten was the third Tiger to score, kicking out an impressive nine runners in the final 900m to take 11th overall. He set a new 8k personal best with his time of 23:20.5.
First-year Hayden Boaz was next to score, putting up a strong performance as he clocked in at 23:29.4 to finish in 19th place, running just his second collegiate 8k.
Connor McCormick was the final Tiger scorer, making a final push to pass nine runners in his final split to take 20th overall with a time of 23:34.5.
Sebastian Martinez and Brian Boler were the Tiger pushers, finishing in 27th (23:43.1) and 34th place (23:51.1), respectively.
Hosting some of the top programs in the nation at its own Meadows Cross Country Course, the Tigers rallied to earn a solid win with postseason on the horizon.
Princeton will now look ahead to the Ivy Heptagonal Championships on October 31, which will be hosted by Columbia in Van Cortlandt Park, N.Y.
