PRINCETON, N.J. – Seeking a fifth-consecutive title, the Princeton men's cross country team will compete in the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 31 in Van Cortlandt Park.
The men's 8k race will kick off at 12 p.m.
Heps History
Last year, the Princeton men's cross country team kicked off a year of wins with the 2024 Ivy Cross Country Championship, the first trophy en-route to winning a second-consecutive Triple Crown.
The title marked the program's 25th all-time and second under Head Coach Jason Vigilante.
The Tigers return three of their scorers from last year's championship race in Myles Hogan, Connor McCormick and Jackson Shorten. Pusher Collin Boler also returns.
Hogan earned First Team All-Ivy honors last year, finishing fifth overall. Shorten and McCormick each earned Second Team All-Ivy distinction with 11th and 13th place finishes, respectively.
Heps set off a prolific postseason, as the Tigers went on to finish second in the Mid-Atlantic and qualify as a team for NCAAs, where they took 24th.
Season in Review
The Tigers have been dominant so far this year, winning three of its four team-scored races while putting up a strong 13th-place finish at Gans Creek against some of the nation's best competition.
Senior Hogan and sophomore Jacob Nenow have been solid for Princeton, with each winning an Ivy Athlete of the Week award as they put up top Tiger finishes this season.
Most recently, the Tigers won the Princeton Fall Classic, hosted at home on their Meadows Campus Cross Country Course. Hogan and Nenow made a late push to claim second and third place overall to earn clutch scores for Princeton.
In The Rankings
Princeton was ranked 19th in the latest USTFCCCA poll. They are the highest ranked Ivy League team, with Harvard coming in at 21st. The Tigers continue to hold the top spot in the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings.
About Coach Vigilante
Princeton is led by Jason Vigilante, in his 15th season at Princeton and third at the helm. Since being named head coach in 2023, Vigilante has earned two-consecutive Mid-Atlantic Region Outdoor Coach of the Year honors and six Ivy Coach of the Year awards across cross country, indoor and outdoor track. He is currently ranked 14th on the USTFCCCA's most recent poll.
