Three Tigers Finish In Top Five at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, PA. – With three Tigers finishing in the top five, the Princeton men's cross country team competed in the Paul Short Run men's open 8k on Friday in Bethlehem.
Jackson Shorten claimed individual victory as he was the first across the line in a field of nearly 600 runners. Staying at the top of the pack from the start, Shorten moved up from fourth place at the 5k mark to take first with a time of 23:59.4.
Franco Parra Ramon crossed the finish line at 24:09.5, taking fourth place after consistently moving up throughout the race. Ramon passed 23 runners between the one mile and 5k splits, before kicking out another thirteen through the finish.
Weston Brown was just a second behind him, making a 28-competitor jump between one mile and 5k before passing another four to take fifth place overall with a time of 24:10.5.
Also putting up a strong performance, Vijay Krishnamoorthi took 14th place overall, clocking in at 24:24.7.
With championship season approaching, beginning with the Ivy Heptagonal Championships to later this month, the Tigers have continued to hone their skills and put up strong performances, including today's showing at Paul Short.
Princeton will now look to return to their home course as they host some of the region's best competition for the Princeton Fall Classic on October 17th.
