PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's cross country team will return to its home Meadows Cross Country Course this Friday, October 17th to host the Princeton Fall Classic.
Leading up to Heps in just two weeks, the Tigers will look to build on an already dominant season as they compete against some of the most elite programs in their own backyard.
Most recently, the Tigers competed at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh, with three Tigers finishing in the top five of the open 8k.
Jackson Shorten claimed individual victory as he was the first across the line in a field of nearly 600 runners. Staying at the top of the pack from the start, Shorten moved up from fourth place at the 5k mark to take first with a time of 23:59.4.
Franco Parra Ramon passed 23 runners between the one mile and 5k splits to take fourth place, while Weston Brown, just a second behind him, made a 28-competitor jump to take fifth place overall.
Before that, Princeton competed at the Gans Creek Classic at the host site of this year's NCAA Championships. Myles Hogan and Jacob Nenow finished in the top 25, with Hogan taking 18th and earning himself Ivy Athlete of the Week Honors as Nenow took 23rd.
In The Rankings
Princeton was ranked 20th in the latest USTFCCCA poll. They are the highest ranked Ivy League team, with Harvard making the poll at 28th. The Tigers continue to hold the top spot in the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings.
Looking Back on 24-25
The Tigers enter the 2025 season after completing the Ivy League Triple Crown last academic year, which began with winning the 2024 Ivy League Cross Country Championship. The Triple Crown marked Princeton's second-consecutive after achieving the feat in 2023-24.
Last cross country season, Princeton took second place at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals before going on to take 24th as a team at the NCAA Championships.

Princeton returns several Tigers who played key roles in the team's success last season. Hogan took seventh at last year's Mid-Atlantic Regional. He was also the top Tiger finisher at NCAAs, placing 64th with a 10k PR of 29:38.9. Hogan earned First Team All-Ivy Honors after placing fifth at the Ivy Championships.
Jackson Shorten, a 2024 Second Team All-Ivy honoree, returns for his senior season after placing 14th at last year's regionals.
Senior Connor McCormick took 11th at last year's Ivy Championships, finishing third for Princeton, before taking 27th at NCAA regionals.
Nenow is in his sophomore year at Princeton after excelling in the distance events during the last indoor and outdoor track season. In his first collegiate 10,000m at the Sam Howell invitational, he set a program record in the event with a PR of 28:23.60.
