PRINCETON, N.J. – After winning the Jersey Jam last weekend, the Princeton men's cross country team will take to the course again on Friday at the Iona Paddy Doyle Meet of Champions. The men's five-mile race will begin at 10 a.m. in Van Cortlandt Park, N.Y.
Last Time Out
On Friday at home at the Meadows Campus Cross Country Course, the Tigers raced to a first-place team finish of 38 points, besting Route 1 rival Rutgers by one point.
Collin Boler was the top Tiger finisher, finishing the 5.8k race in 17:06.9 for two points, with Avery Keith on his tails at 17:08.2.
Sebastian Martinez and Christian Groendyk were next across the finish for Princeton with five and six points, with Vijay Krishnamoorthi rounding out the Tigers for 22 points.
A trio of unattached Tigers in Brian Boler, Hayden Boaz and Tristan Yoder crossed the finish line first, with Boler clocking in at 16:56.3.
Looking Back on 24-25
The Tigers enter the 2025 season after completing the Ivy League Triple Crown last academic year, which began with winning the 2024 Ivy League Cross Country Championship. The Triple Crown marked Princeton's second-consecutive after achieving the feat in 2023-24.
Last cross country season, Princeton took second place at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals before going on to take 24th as a team at the NCAA Championships.
Heading into this season, Princeton is ranked 19th nationally and first in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the USTFCCCA's preseason poll.
Meet the Tigers
Princeton returns several Tigers who played key roles in the team's success last season. Myles Hogan is set to begin his senior season in the Orange & Black after taking seventh at last year's Mid-Atlantic Regional. He was also the top Tiger finisher at NCAAs, placing 64th with a 10k PR of 29:38.9. Hogan earned First Team All-Ivy Honors after placing fifth at the Ivy Championships.
Jackson Shorten, a 2024 Second Team All-Ivy honoree, returns for his senior season after placing 14th at last year's regionals.
Senior Connor McCormick took 11th at last year's Ivy Championships, finishing third for Princeton, before taking 27th at NCAA regionals.
Jacob Nenow enters his sophomore year at Princeton after excelling in the distance events during the indoor and outdoor track season. In his first collegiate 10,000m at the Sam Howell invitational, he set a program record in the event with a PR of 28:23.60.
The Tigers are also joined by seven talented newcomers in Thomas Arender, Hayden Boaz, Hudson Haley, Sebi Hume, Tsedeke Jakovics, James McLeay and Tristan Yoder.

Princeton is led by Jason Vigilante, in his 15th season at Princeton and third at the helm. Since being named head coach in 2023, Vigilante has earned two-consecutive Mid-Atlantic Region Outdoor Coach of the Year honors and six Ivy Coach of the Year awards across cross country, indoor and outdoor track. He is currently ranked 14th on the USTFCCCA's preseason poll.
