Colgate Gets Past Women's Hockey Team in OT

Though the No. 7-ranked Princeton women's hockey team put together a third-period rally to pull even with Colgate, the Raiders, ranked No. 15 in one national poll and receiving votes in another, got a delayed-penalty goal in overtime to get past the Tigers 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at Baker Rink.
Emma Beauchamp scored a little more than a minute into the game and Sara Stewart doubled the lead for the Raiders just past the midpoint of the first period, and that's where it stood until more than 12 minutes were gone in the third period.
Mackenzie Alexander opened the scoring for Princeton, threading a shot home from the slot to pull the Tigers within 2-1, and with less than four minutes to go in the game, Riley Sorokan tied it after a pass from Katherine Khramtsov from behind the net to get Princeton even at 2-2.
In the overtime, Alexis Petford had the delayed-penalty goal to end it despite the Tigers outshooting Colgate on goal 43-26 and 78-45 overall.
Princeton will head to St. Lawrence and Clarkson next weekend to begin back-to-back road series as the ECAC Hockey season continues.
