February 21, 2026 | Men's Ice Hockey
The win deposits a big three points in Princeton's ECAC account as the Tigers improved to 15-11-2 overall and 11-8-1 inside the ECAC. With two games to go, Princeton now sits in the No. 4 spot in the ECAC table with 35 points – three points ahead Harvard who the Tigers play next Friday. Princeton is also six points back of Cornell and Dartmouth who are tied for second with 41 points.Jacobs makes a quick break away and the Tigs take the lead for the first time tonight!! @ecachockey | @TeamECH | @NCAAIceHockey pic.twitter.com/FaczKD2f4l

Captain David Jacobs led the way with a goal and an assist, netting the short-handed game-winning goal late in the second period. Classmates Brendan Gorman (1 goal) and Jaxson Ezman (1 assist) also had points on Senior Night as all nine Tigers in the Class of 2026 played in the game.
In addition to the seniors, a newcomer had a night to remember as Malcolm Green scored his first career goal midway through the third to add crucial breathing room for the Tigers after assisting on Joshua Karnish's goal in the first period. The multi-point effort was the first of Green's collegiate career.
Arthur Smith made 26 saves in goal, many of the highlight-reel variety, while dialing up 11 of his saves in the third.
The Tigers finish the 2025-26 regular season slate at home with a 12-2-1 record at Hobey Baker Rink which ties this year's team for No. 2 all-time in home wins by a Princeton club alongside the 1932-32 team and one win behind the 2008-09 team that holds the program record. The 15 wins overall are tied for ninth-most in program history.Toe My God!

The Big Red made Princeton pay for an early penalty as Cornell needed just 0:06 to net a power play goal 5:14 into the game. The Big Red won a faceoff clean, cycling the puck down behind the end line where a Ryan Walsh centering pass deflected off a sliding Princeton defender and in for a 1-0 Cornell lead.
The Tigers answered with 8:12 to play in the first when Malcolm Green sprung Joshua Karnish on a breakaway that he cashed in for his first goal of the season.
Cornell countered less than a minute later when Tyler Catalano spun a backhander through Smith with 7:35 to play in the first.Joshua Karnish ties it up for the Tigs!!@ecachockey | @TeamECH | @NCAAIceHockey pic.twitter.com/wN2Yhc7esI

Princeton had an answer once again before the end of the first following a big Arthur Smith stop of a Cornell short-handed breakaway with a fluky Brendan Gorman power-play goal with 5:50 to play in the opening stanza.
On the ensuing sequence after the Smith save, Brendan Gorman had a shot sail just wide of the top left corner that caromed off a stanchion and back over the next where it bounced off a Cornell defender and in to even the game at 2-2.
The score stayed that way until almost the exact same time in the second period when David Jacobs lifted a short-handed goal over Cournoyer's right shoulder with 5:49 to play in the second. Some Help From The Ghosts Of Hobey Baker Rink!

In the third, Princeton withstood a Cornell push until Malcolm Green was sprung free by Jake Manfre midway through the period. With two Big Red defenders draped all over him, Green used his 6-6 frame to create enough space to flip home his first collegiate goal in highlight fashion.
The Tigers defended the house from that point on, withstanding a Cornell extra-attacker push for the game's final 4:21 while Arthur Smith made four saves and a pair of senior defensemen in Tyler Rubin and David Ma each blocked a shot.We have a first career NCAA goal!!
